I first worked with puppets in 2001, creating short devised physical theatre/puppet performances with young people in a workshop setting. I have since used puppets in much of my own street theatre work, and have also worked as an actor/puppeteer in a number of productions.
I puppeteered the beguiling ‘Inch High’ as part of solo show “Hoof!” for Niki McCretton, played and puppeteered the Little Red Hen in the show of the same name for inventive children’stheatre company Stuff and Nonsense, and I toured the UK and Norway with the acclaimed Pickled Image, puppeteering Big Edith Bouvier Beale in their show “Little Edie”.
During 2013 I worked as lead puppeteer on 'In the Night Garden Live', for Minor Entertainment / BBC Worldwide. I was also a lead puppeteer on 'Fuzzbox', a new entertainment show commissioned as a pilot by BBC3. You can watch the show here:

I am aware of the power that puppets have to tell stories that actors sometimes can’t, and am deeply respectful of their ability to make us laugh, cry and feel – both as audience members, and as puppeteers.
'Helen's work puppeteering on Fuzzbox was exceptional. She was dedicated, committed and skilful in capturing the heart of the characters and conveying their warmth and humour.'
